Ramsgate has been awarded £20 million in government funding to improve the town over the next ten years (2026–2036). The plan will be shaped by local people’s voices and we are working to ensure especially those of disabled and neurodivergent residents are included. To ensure those voices are represented, Neurodivergent Friends CIC are working with Thanet District Council to host an accessible, in-person consultation session for disabled and neurodivergent people, parents, carers, children and young people, and families. Consultation Session Details 📍Tuesday 21 October, 11am–3pm (drop-in) 📍Union Ramsgate, 25–27 Queen Street, Ramsgate CT11 9DZ 📍Drop in anytime - stay as little or as long as you like 📍Light refreshments and neurodivergent-led child support and activities (crafts+games) provided to ensure families with children can attend. 📍To thank participants for their time, a limited number of £5 vouchers will also be available for those attending in-person (first-come, first-served, make sure to register interest with the form below). This will be a calm, inclusive, and accessible session designed to ensure disabled and neurodivergent residents (or those working or attending regular provisions in Ramsgate) and their families can share their experiences, ideas, and priorities for Ramsgate’s future. You don’t need to be an expert - just someone who lives, studies, works, or accesses services in Ramsgate and cares about access, inclusion, and community life. Feedback from this event will directly inform the Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board’s 10-year vision and investment plan to be submitted to the government later this year. To Take Part Please complete the short form below to register interest and share any access needs: https://forms.gle/1wJTRG5uhuJXiqBQ8

Today we said goodbye to the wonderful Mrs Trish Amos. Trish has worked at Dame Janet for 27 years, giving her energy for the many different roles she has had in that time. We will miss her greatly as she heads off into her retirement. We have named our medical room ‘The Amos Suite’ to remember her years of expert knowledge for all things medical to help the children of Dame Janet 💜

🇮🇹 Year 5 and 6 enjoyed playing pairs to match the months of the year in English to Italian 🇮🇹 Last week, they learned the days of the week. Why not see how many they can remember? Did you know, unlike English, the days of the week in Italian don’t begin with a capital letter? lunedì (Monday), martedì (Tuesday), mercoledì (Wednesday), giovedì (Thursday), venerdì (Friday), sabato (Saturday), and domenica (Sunday)

Please support your child in understanding not to ride their bike or scooter on the playgrounds or into the school site before and after school.🛴This is especially important on the path into Lower School 🛴 We have had a number of near misses recently. Staff will remind children and adults if spotted. Thank you. Electric scooters must not be brought into the school site under any circumstances (whether being ridden or pushed).

Our Nursery children had a lovely time learning to cross the road with Darren the school crossing patrol man. The children successfully stopped, looked and listened, then waited for Darren to say it was safe to cross. Well done everyone! #shortysnurseryramsgate #damejanetprimaryacademy #roadsafety
