Last week, Attenborough Class enjoyed celebrating 'World Oceans Day' to support learning through our current topic 'On the Beach'. 🏖️ We had some amazing ocean-themed outfits - thank you. 🐠 We also enjoyed opening our very own beach shop and ice-cream parlour role play area. 🍦

Due to the very hot weather forecast for tomorrow (Friday 19th June), all children and staff are invited to wear non-school uniform. No sandals or open-toed shoes please (crocs, trainers etc will be fine). 🌞 Please ensure children are sent in with a water bottle, hat and have sun cream applied before school.

If your child is currently in Year 5 and you intend to apply to a Kent Grammar school for them you must register for the Kent Test online before midnight on the 1st of July. 🎉Teamwork makes the dream work! 🎉 On Wednesday 10th June, our fantastic Year 6 students teamed up with the wonderful staff from McDonald’s Westwood Cross for a community litter pick at Jackey Bakers! 🚮 We are incredibly proud of our children for volunteering their time, working hard, and helping to keep our local community clean, green, and beautiful. A huge thank you to McDonald’s for partnering with us to make a positive difference! ✨👏

School Age Childcare Survey The need for childcare does not stop when children reach school-age, we know that families continue to need childcare before and after school, and during the school holidays. As a result, the Department for Education is taking a strategic approach to the future of School Aged Childcare (SAC) which builds on the successes of programmes such as the National Wraparound Childcare programme, the Holidays Activities and Food programme (HAF) and the national rollout of the Free Breakfast Club programme, to ensure families are supported, year-round, by an outstanding SAC system. The Education People’s Early Years and Childcare Service is conducting a survey on behalf of Kent County Council, of parents and carers to determine their term time and holiday childcare requirement for children aged 0-14 and up to 18 for disabled children. The information will help us assess if there are any gaps in provision and how best to meet the needs of all families. Please find below the link and QR Code. ✨ Fluttering into new adventures! 🦋 Our youngest learners experienced the pure magic of releasing the butterflies they have watched transform from tiny caterpillars. 🐛➡️🦋 Witnessing the children's excitement as these beautiful creatures took their first flights was absolutely unforgettable. 💖 #shortysnursery
