Guidance for Parents and Carers

As we are all aware it is a very unusual time for our school and community.

Below are some links to relevant websites for more information and support.

As Dame Janet already has a staggered system of entry (between 8.40am and 9.00am) and we are lucky to have multiple entrances, we will not be adding additional times for different year groups. Please use the yellow markings on the paths and playgrounds to continue to help your family understand the importance of social distancing during pick-up and drop-off times.

Please wait at 2 metres distance from one another, be considerate of others and do not gather at gates or too close to the doors.

Hand hygiene: Your child will be expected to follow strict behaviour rules relating to physical contact with other pupils, and keeping their hands clean. Pupils will be asked to wash their hands regularly, and/or use hand sanitiser.

Please support us by talking to your children about the importance of following instructions from adults, only talking when your mouth is empty, flushing the toilet, washing hands thoroughly and giving virtual hugs to friends.

Breakfast club: In order to not mix children from different year groups, breakfast club will not be operating for the time being. We appreciate that this may cause some difficulty for parents/carers but we need to ensure that the safety of the children and staff is a priority.

School mini-bus: The school mini-bus will also not be used to collect children before school. We ask parents and carers of children who used this service to make other arrangements during this time.

Symptoms: You must ensure that if anyone in your household has COVID-19 symptoms, your child does not attend school. Any child or staff member who develops symptoms in the school day will be sent home immediately. If anyone in your household, or your child, tests positive for COVID-19 you must inform the school. We have a lot of reporting to the DFE that we have to complete and this information is important to us.

Home-learning: For those of you who have needed to, you will be aware of the home-learning ready on the school website. We continue to adapt and review so if you ever can’t find what you need, then please give us a call.

Changes to school policies and risk assessments

Our policies are under constant review as always and due to the pandemic, additional safety measures and temporary changes may be brought in to deal with the constantly evolving situation, government guidance and statutory measures.

There have been changes to some school policies and risk assessments due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Please click here to view these on our policies page.

Parent pay

Cashless schools are safer for everyone in these unprecedented times.

Parent Pay is easy to use, compatible with most devices, can be topped up via debit card or paypoint and will allow you to pay for school dinners whenever it's convenient (not just during office hours)

Please see the video below for a quick overview.

For more information please see the parent pay website.
